Dave Britt

Dave Britt, Executive Director of the Rosewood Merchants Association, reminisces on his first time seeing a live band at a nightclub in Five Points. He was 16 years old and saw a “reggae band called Eek Mouse at a club called Greene Streets which was located by the Five Points Food Lion.” Since then music has surrounded his time in Five Points. His college band The Dharma Dogs played at the Elbow Room, a music venue originally located beside Group Therapy.

I love all of Columbia’s unique, locally owned businesses and think it’s important to support them whenever possible.

He looks forward to the Chili Cook-Off in Five Points every year. “I love the laid back atmosphere, catching up with old friends and the chili is always good.”  As a kid, and still to this day, he loves Loose Lucy’s and Papa Jazz.
